Sherman Wong, D.V.M.

Dr. Wong is a native San Franciscan, having grown up in the Chinatown-North Beach areas of the city.

He received a B.A. in Biology from San Francisco State University in 1970. His D.V.M. was received in 1974 from University of California, Davis.

Prior to becoming a partner at Blue Cross Pet Hospital, Dr. Wong worked one year at the Marina Pet Hospital, San Francisco, then briefly at the Animal Friends Clinic in San Francisco (no longer a vet clinic). He came to Blue Cross Pet Hospital in 1975.

Dr. Wong's interests include traveling, reading, cooking and golf (no Tiger


Dr. Wong is married, with two sons in college. A Pug named Buddy is the fourth member of the family.

Wonjee Lee, D.V.M.


Dr. Lee is the surgeon at Blue Cross Pet Hospital.  He is married and has two children.



David M. Strohauer, D.V.M.

Dr. Strohauer is the senior member of our staff. He is semi-retired, but still plays an active roll in Veterinary medicine. Dr. Strohauer graduated from Colorado State School of Veterinary Medicine in 1944. He served in the Army Veterinary Corps immediately after graduation. He joined Blue Cross Pet Hospital a few years after discharge and has been with us ever since.

He has an avid interest in wine making and he owns a private label, which is exclusively for personal consumption.

He has two dogs (a miniature Schnauzer and a Golden Retriever) and one cat.
